This tree has an upright trunk that normally has rough yellow-brown bark to the lower spreading branches with pendant branchlets that forms a dense rounded crown. It has grey green lanced-shaped leaves and cream flowers in spring.

Eucalyptus melliodorais naturally found in Australia predominately on the western side of the Great Dividing Range from Victoria to throughout New South Wales and extending in to south east Queensland. It is also found on the tablelands and extending to the coast.
It grows in a range of soils including alluvial clay loams and sandy loams in an open sunny position and is drought and frost tolerant.
Yellow Box is grown for its graceful habit and is planted in parks and large gardens as a specimen or as a shade tree. It is also used in roadside or street plantings establishing in 3 to 5 years. It is suitable for coastal or inland regions and is excellent for honey production and is food for koalas. Under cultivation the tree is normally smaller and slow growing. ID 2361
