This tree has a short trunk with grey bark and spreading white branches that shed bark in ribbons. It has broad lanced-shaped grey green leaves and the white flowers appear in clusters from summer to autumn followed by woody capsules.

Eucalyptus chapmanianais naturally found in Australia from the northern Bogong Ranges in Victoria extending to New South Wales and appearing at elevations from 600m (2,000ft) to 1,200m (3,600ft) in wet sclerophyll forests.

It prefers a deep well drained light to medium moist soils in an open to protected sunny position and is frost tolerant but drought tender.

The Bogong Gum is grown for its habit and is planted in parks and large gardens as an ornamental or onfarms as a wind break or shelter belt. It is suitable for coastal or mountainous regions establishing in 2 to 3 years and is long lived tolerating heavy frosts.
It is planted in sub-alpine regions and suitable for ornamental purposes. ID 2359
