This tree has a grey trunk with spreading branches that form a spreading rounded crown. It has oblong leathery dark green leaves that are crowded towards the end of the branches and the small tube-shaped flowers are followed by winged fruit.

Terminalia arjunais naturally found from India to Sri Lanka growing in well drained moderately fertile moist soils in an open sunny position and is drought and frost tender.

The Ceylon Almond is grown for its spreading habit and is planted in parks as a specimen or in tropical settings.
