This fan palm has a slender grey trunk that has exposed prickled roots at the base and the crown is matted in fibre. The dark green equally divided fan-shaped fronds have a long slender arching stalk and the creamy flowers appear in a pendant cluster.

This palm is grown for it s foliage and small habit. It is used in tropical gardens or along creek embankments and as a specimen in small gardens or around water features. It is suitable for coastal or mountainous regions and establishing in 3 to 5 years and is used for group plantings or along shady borders. ID 2304
Note:
The trunk has branched spines that are actually aerial roots and tend to appear towards the base.
This plant is not commonly cultivated and may be difficult to obtain requiring a specialist nursery.
