This palm has a solitary smooth ringed greyish trunk that swells at the base and topped with an open rounded crown. The large yellow-green divided leaves have lax lanced-shaped segments and the small cup-shaped flowers appear in clusters during summer.

The Yellow Latan Palm is grown for its foliage and is used in tropical settings, parks and large gardens and as a lawn specimen. It is suitable for coastal or inland regions or planted in patio pots when young. It establishes in 4 to 7 years and is used in group plantings. ID 2291
Note:
This plant differs from Latania lontaroidesin that the leaves are thinner, less stiff and have a yellowish ting on both sides.
