This shrub may be semi deciduous with many upright pendulous branches that form an irregular rounded habit. It has broad lanced-shaped dark green leaves that turn reddish in winter and the small saucer-shaped white flowers appear in clusters in spring.

This Cotoneaster is grown for its busy habit and is planted shrub borders for screening or as a pedestrian barrier. It is also used in commercial sites, establishing in 2 to 3 years and is moderatly ling lived. It is also planted as a clipped or informal hedge and is suitable for coastal or mountain regions. Cotoneaster henryanusmay be difficult to obtain but is very simular to Cotoneaster salicfoliuswhich is commonly cultivated.
