This tree has a twisted trunk with reddish-brown bark and upright branching that forms an open rounded crown. It has grey green leathery lanced-shaped leaves and the small white flowers appear in clusters during summer.

Eucalyptus pauciflorais naturally found in Australia from New South Wales to Victoria and Tasmania growing in highlands up to an altitude of 1,500m (500ft). It may also be found near sea level and the growth habit varies from shrub-like in high country to upright with a narrow dome outline.

It grows in well drained, moderately fertile rocky to alluvial soils in an open sunny position and is drought and frost tolerant.

The Snow Gum is grown for its bark and twisted growth habit. It is planted in parks or large gardens as a specimen tolerating snow. It is also suitable for exposed positions on the coast or in the mountains, establishing from in 3 to 5 years. It is used as a windbreak or for honey and fodder.ID 2103

Note:
The bark has a mottled appearance as it is shed in irregular patches revealing smooth white areas that turn golden yellow then become greyish. Scribble moth leaves conspicuous marks on the trunk in some regions.
This tree rarely attains 20m (60ft) and more commonly a twisted small tree to 8m (24ft).
