This perennial succulent has a short central stem with slender radiating mid green branches that are covered in tubercles. The small narrow leaves appear on the new growth then fall and the cream coloured small flowers appear in summer.

This succulent is grown for its unusual appearance and is planted in cactus and succulent gardens or rockeries as a specimen and may be used in patio pots. It establishes in 2 to 3 years and in cold climates it is grown in a glasshouse or as a house plant. ID 2075
