This succulent has fleshy triangular leaves arranged in a rosette and forms a clump. It has dark green lance-shaped leaves with armed raised white spots and the orange red tube-shaped flowers appear in a cluster above the foliage during autumn.

Aloe aristatais naturally found from eastern to southern South Africa growing in rocky places on the coast and in the mountains.
It prefers an open sunny position but will tolerate semi-shade and grows in most well-drained sandy stony soils to sandy loam tending acidic with a pH 5.5-6.5 and is drought tolerant but frost tender.
The Torch Plant is grown for its attractive foliage, clumping habit and flowers. It is planted in small or arid gardens or used as a container plant for indoors and as a glass house specimen.
