This shrub has upright-arching branches that form a dense rounded habit. It has small dark green leaves that are arranged along the stems and the lime green bottlebrush-like flowers appear towards the end of the branches from spring to early summer.

Melaleuca diosmifoliais naturally found in south-west Western Australia growing in heath and woodlands. It prefers a very well drained, moderately fertile sandy loam in an open sunny position and is frost and drought tolerant.

This shrub is grown for its flowers and compact habit. It is planted in parks and gardens as a lawn specimen or in shrub borders and may be pruned to form a hedge. It establishes in 3 to 5 years tolerating cold conditions and is suitable for inland or coastal regions. ID 2044
