This epiphytic cactus grows in the crotches of trees and has a cylindrical green stem with flat leaf like branches that are scalloped and forms tufted habit. The nocturnal fragrant pink to white funnel-shaped flowers appears from late spring to summer.

It prefers a humid atmosphere and bright indirect light and humis rich moist soil and with wind, frost and drought protection.
The Orchid Cactus is grown for its spectacular flowers and is commonly grown in containers as indoor plant. It may also be planted on trees in tropical gardens or used in courtyards as a specimen plant. It establishes from cuttings in 2 to 3 years and requires little maintenance. ID 1969
