This clump forming succulent bromeliad has rosettes of long, rigid bronze green lanced-shaped leaves that are toothed and tapering. The tube-shaped yellow-orange flowers appear in a cluster on a tall stem above the foliage during spring.

Dyckia encholirioidesis naturally found in South America growing from the coastal regions of southern Brazil to north-eastern Argentina in stony well drained moderately fertile soils. It prefers an open sunny position tolerating high temperatures and is drought tolerant but frost tender.

This succulent perennial is grown for its foliage and clumping habit. It is planted in rockeries or containers and used in small garden beds as a front border specimen. It is also planted in succulent gardens and establishes from division in 2 to 4 years. It may be grown indoors tolerating low levels of light. ID 1953
