This perennial succulent has a short stem that is topped in a rosette of fleshy bluish green lanced-shaped leaves. The orange tube-shaped flowers appear in terminal heads during spring on tall stems.

Aloe comptoniiis naturally found on the East and West Cape in South Africa. It prefers an open sunny position and grows in well drained moderately fertile stony soils and tolerates drought or high temperatures but is frost tender.
This succulent is grown for its foliage and flowers. It is suitable for arid gardens or rockeries and is planted in roof gardens requiring little care. It establishes from division in 2 to 3 years and may be grown in containers or in succulent gardens. It tolerates semi shade and a variety of soil types.ID 1948
