This succulent sub-shrub has an upright habit with fleshy stems that have tubercles and forms an open habit. The spoon-shaped fleshy mid-green leaves are arranged in rosettes towards the end of the stems and star-shaped pinkish flowers appear in summer.

Aeonium ciliatumis naturally found in the Canary Islands growing in an open sunny position on very well drained moderately fertile soils and tolerates drought or high temperatures but is frost tender.

This succulent is grown for it foliage and is planted in arid gardens as a specimen or in rockeries. It is commonly grown as a container plant and may be used indoors.
