This small coniferous tree has a solitary trunk with greyish bark and slightly upright branches that form a conical habit. It has small mid green linear leaves that appear on pendant branchlets and the small yellowish male and female flowers appear in spring.

Juniperus cedrusis naturally found in the Canary Islands growing in well drained fertile moist soils in an open sunny position and is drought tender and mildly frost resistant.

The Canary Island Juniper is a small conifer that is grown for it habit and is planted in parks and gardens as a lawn specimen plant. It is suitable for coastal or hill side plantings and establishes in 3 to 5 years. It is not commonly cultivated and may be difficult to obtain from nurseries. ID 1905
