This small coniferous tree has a solitary trunk with greyish bark and slightly upright branches that form a conical habit. It has small mid green linear leaves that appear on pendant branchlets and the small yellowish male and female flowers appear in spring.

The Canary Island Juniper is a small conifer that is grown for it habit and is planted in parks and gardens as a lawn specimen plant. It is suitable for coastal or hill side plantings and establishes in 3 to 5 years. It is not commonly cultivated and may be difficult to obtain from nurseries. ID 1905
