This small tree has an upright greyish trunk with ascending spreading branches that form a domed crown. It has divided leaves with glossy dark green leaflets and tiny green yellow saucer-shaped flowers appear in a cluster during late summer.

Cupaniopsis anacardioidesis naturally found in Australia from the Northern Territory to Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales. It is also found in Papua New Guinea, normally close to the coast in protected positions.

It grows in well drained fertile moist soils tolerating salt spray in a open sunny position and is drought and wind tolerant but frost tender.
