This large forest tree has a straight trunk with brown fibrous bark and spreading branches with a rounded crown. It has broad lanced-shaped dark green adult leaves and the yellowish flowers appear in clusters during summer.

Eucalyptus muellerianais naturally found in Australia from the coastal planes and adjoining mountains in south-eastern New South Wales and Victoria. It grows from sea level to an altitude of 600m (1,800ft) tolerating frost and in some cases light snow.

It prefers moist fertile well drained soils in valley floors and sheltered slopes in an open sunny position.

Yellow Stringybark is a large tree that is grown for its timber and habit. It is planted in woodland settings or parks as a lawn specimen, but is not suitable for domestic gardens. It establishes in 2 to 3 years and is long lived. The timber is used in the building industry.ID 1864

The fibrous bark is brown on the surface and yellowish underneath. The valuable straight grained timber is strong and durable in salt water. It is used for construction around harbours or for general building works.
