This large shrub to small tree is suckering, with upright trunks with papery bark and ascending branches that form a rounded crown. It has leathery dark green elliptical leaves and the small yellowish bottlebrush-like flowers appear during spring.

Melaleuca biconvexais naturally found in Australia from the Hunter River to Jervis Bay in New South Wales. It prefers a light well drained fertile soil and is commonly found in moist areas in an open sunny position and tolerates drought, light frost and salt spray.
This Melaleuca is grown for its habit and attractive bark. It is planted in parks and gardens as a specimen or in group plantings around water features and along borders. It establishes in 3 to 5 years and is not that commonly cultivated as an ornamental plant.
It is used in large gardens or bushland settings and is bird attracting. ID 1856
