This upright shrub has slender branches that are covered in rusty-hairs and forms an open rounded habit. It has dark green pointed lanced-shaped leaves and the small cup-shaped greenish flowers appear in pendant clusters during spring.

Lasiopetalum macrophyllumis naturally found in Australia from New South Wales to Victoria and Tasmania growing on the coast in heath and in the adjoining tablelands in open forests.

It prefers a well drained moderately fertile moist sandy soil in an open sunny position and is drought, frost and salt spray resistant.

Shrubby Rusty-petals is planted for its bushy habit and is used in commercial sites or along borders for screening. It is also used in bushland settings, gully plantings and on embankments. It establishes in 2 to 3 years and is suitable for coastal and the adjoining tableland regions tolerating most soils. ID 1842

Note:
When grown in an exposed position it tends to be stunted.
It is a hardy plant but not showyand may be difficult to obtained requiring a specialist nursery.
