Babingtonia tozerensisis naturally found in Australia in Mt Tozer in the Cape York Peninsular in Far North Queensland. It tolerates a range of moderately fertile, well drained soils in a protected sunny position and is frost tolerant but drought tender.
Babingtonia is a shrub that is grown for its compact habit and its flowers. It is used in small gardens as a front border plant or as a specimen in raised garden beds. It establishes in 2 to 3 years and is suitable for coastal or inland regions tolerating a wide range of conditions.
