This succulent shrub has a upright swollen trunk with peeling bark and branched towards the top forming an open crown. It has large fleshy blue-green toothed leaves and the small yellowish tube-shaped flowers appear in summer followed by red fruit.

Cyphostemma juttaeis naturally found in southern Namibia in South-West Africa growing in well drained, poor to moderately fertile soils in an open sunny position with low humidity and tolerates drought and high temperatures but is frost tender.

This perennial is grown for its large leaves and colourful fruit. It is planted in succulent or arid gardens as a specimen and is grown as a container plant. It establishes in 3 to 5 years and requires no moisture during winter.ID 1824
