This tuberous perennial climber has slender twinning reddish stems that form a dense tangled habit. It has dark green oblong leathery leaves and the tube-shaped reddish-orange flowers appear in dense pendant clusters during autumn.

Bomarea multiflorais naturally found in South America from Colombia to Venezuela growing in well drained, fertile moist light soils in a semi shaded protected position with wind and drought protection but is frost tolerant.

This perennial climber is grown for its flowers and is planted in sub-tropical or small gardens, courtyards or over structures as a specimen. It establishes in 2 to 3 years from division and is suitable for coastal or mountainous regions. It is also used in shady borders or bright conservatories for a tropical effect. ID 1819
