This perennial succulent has spreading brittle stems and forms an open spreading habit. It has tiny scale-like mid green leaves that line the stems densely and the small tube-shaped yellow green flowers appear in clusters during spring.

Crassula muscosais naturally found in the North and Western Cape in South Africa growing in very well drained, moderately fertile soils in an open sunny position tolerating drought or high temperatures but is frost tender.

The Rat-tail Crassula is grown for its foliage and is planted in rockeries or in succulent gardens or on roof gardens. It is also grown as a container plant establishing from cuttings in 2 to 3 years. It may also be grown as a houseplant tolerating bright indirect light and is an easy plant to cultivate.ID 1783

Note:
The creeping stems have a four-sided appearance due to the arrangement of the leaves and can grow up to 600mm (2ft) long.
