This large vigorous deciduous tree has a strong trunk with ridged greyish bark and ascending branches that form a tall domed crown. It has large dark green lobed leaves that turn golden yellow during autumn and the yellow cup-shaped flowers appear in spring.

Acer platanoidesis naturally found in Scandinavia and northern Europe growing in canyon forests or fen woodlands in moist, organic rich well-drained soils or gravely soils and prefers an open sunny position and is drought tender but frost tolerant.
Norway Maple is a large vigorous hardy tree that is grown for its habit and its autumn colour. It is planted in parks, large gardens or as a street tree and as a windbreak.
