Neoregelia carolinaeis naturally found in south-eastern Brazil growing in trees. They have stolons and may form a cascade of plants when there is nothing to hang on to and grow in moist decayed leaf mould in a hot humid environment. It prefers a semi-shade to bright filtered light position with wind, frost and drought protection.

Blushing Bromeliad is grown for its habit and colourful leaves. It is used in small or large gardens as a specimen or as a bedding plant for colour contrast under trees. In cold climates it is grown as glasshouse specimen establishing from division in 2 to 4 years. It is also used in tropical settings or around a water feature.ID 1688
