This vigorous climber has strong reddish woody stems with aerial roots that cling to walls or structures and forms a dense cover. It has dark green ovate leaves that turn yellow in autumn and the whitish fragrant flower heads appear during summer.

It tolerates dry conditions and establishes in 2 to 3 years, then becomes a rapid grower. It is suitable for coastal plantings but care should be taken as the plant damages timber structures.
