This variable shrub has an erect and spreading habit with angular branching that forms a dense rounded crown. It has dark green narrow leaves and the bright scarlet tube-shaped flowers appear in clusters from winter to summer.

Grevillea dimorphais naturally found in Australia from the Grampians to Mt Kosciusko in Victoria growing in moderately fertile sandy, stony well drained soils. It prefers a semi-shaded to bright filtered light position and is drought and frost tolerant.
Flame Grevillea is grown for its flowers and is planted in small to large gardens as a specimen or in group plantings. It may also be grown in containers establishing in 2 to 3 years and is suitable for coastal and mountain regions tolerating well drained heavy soils. It grows on the coast and in the mountains in sheltered gullies or on the foot hills and ridges in open forests. There are two forms of this plant with one having broader leaves (elliptical) and a low growth habit. The second has narrow leaves (linear) and forms a taller upright shrub
