This palm-like cycad has a trunk that is topped in a whorl of shiny dark green divided fronds that are composed of leathery lanced-shaped leaflets. The cone-like flowers appears in the centre of the fronds during summer.

Lepidozamia peroffskyanais naturally found in eastern Australia growing in sub-tropical to tropical rainforests in gullies and on the adjoining slopes. It prefers well-drained organic rich slightly acidic moist soils in a protected position with full sun to dappled light and is frost and drought tender.

The Pineapple Zamia is grown for its attractive foliage and is planted in tropical gardens or parks as a specimen or in groups. It is also used in tubs and planter boxes for a tropical effect. It establishes in 3 to 5 years and is long lived. In cool climates is grown as a houseplant in bright indirect light.ID 1528
