This shrub has an erect stems that form an irregular rounded habit that thickens with age. It has oblong grey-green leaves and the spherical red tube-shaped flowers appear in rounded clusters that are upright at first then drooping from spring to summer.

Rocket Pincushion is grown for its flowers and planted in small to medium size gardens as a specimen or in a shrub borders. It produces excellent flowers for cutting that are long lasting and will establish in 2 to 3 years requiring little maintenance and can be grown in pots and tubs on the coast and inland. ID 1517
