This shrub has an erect habit with spreading or twinning reddish stems and wedge-shaped glossy dark green leaves. The bright yellow saucer-shaped flowers appear solitary amongst the foliage from late winter to spring.

The Cutleaf Hibbertia is a colourful shrub that is used in low border plantings as a low screen and is planted against a wall. It is also used in coastal or roof gardens or as a container plant establishing in 2 to 3 years. It prefers winter rain and tolerates summer dry conditions (Mediterranean climate) but can be unreliable in the humid eastern states of Australia. ID 1399
