This small shrub has a sparsely upright habit with slender stems that are lined with oval dark green leaves. The pendant flower heads are enclosed by purple to apple-green bracts that appear in clusters during spring.

Pimelea physodesis naturally found in south Western Australia growing in sandy to gravelly soils in scrubland and on rocky hillsides. It prefers an open sunny position and is drought and mildly frost resistant.

Qualup Bell is a very attractive Western Australian shrub that is grown in raised garden beds as a specimen plant for its pendant flowers. It is also planted in small gardens or rockeries but may be difficult to maintain. It establishes in 2 to 3 years and can be grown in pots and planter boxes.ID 1362
