This shrub has upright woody stems that are topped with foliage and forms a clump. It has large mid green lanced-shaped toothed leaves and the 2-lipped greenish flowers appear in a terminal cluster during spring. This plant is not commonly found in cultivation.

Lobelia giberroais naturally found from the highlands in east Africa to northern Ethiopia growing to altitudes of 3,900m (10,000ft) in well-drained, moist fertile soils in an open sunny position. It is drought tender and moderately frost tolerant.

Giant Lobelia is a shrub that is grown for its habit and is planted in large gardens or botanical collections as a specimen. It may also be grown in planter boxes or in large rockeries and is suitable for mountain gardens.
