This vigorous vine has a climbing habit using aerial rootlets that attach to any rough surface. The divided leaf has bronze-green leaflets and the tiny yellow saucer-shaped flowers appear in clusters during summer.

Cissus hypoglaucais naturally found in Australia from Queensland to New South Wales and Victoria growing on the the Great Dividing Range to the coast and appearing in rainforests or protected gullies. Under favourable conditions the plant may attain a hight of 15m (50ft) by climbing into trees.
It prefers moist medium to heavy soils that are moderately well drained in a semi-shade to a sunny protected position and is frost tolerant but drought tender.
Water Vine is a foliage plant that is grown as a ground cover or trained over a structure for screening. It is also grown in containers as a spill-over and is used in roof gardens and courtyard planter boxes. It establishes from cuttings in 1 to 2 years. ID 1192
