It prefers a well drained, moderately fertile sandy soil in an open sunny position and is drought and light frost tolerant.

Rock Thryptomene is a fast growing shrub that produces profuse flowers with a graceful weeping habit and is planted in garden borders. It is also planted in pots and tuba and the flowers are used in floral arrangements. It establishes in 1 to 2 years and requires the roots to be kept cool.ID 1181
