This upright-spreading shrub has white hairy branched stems that form a mounded habit. It has mid-green oblong leaves and the long stalked pink cup-shaped nodding flowers appear from late winter to early spring followed by capsular fruit.

Tetratheca thymifolia is naturally found in Australia along the east coast and tablelands from southern Queensland to southern New South Wales growing in heath and in the adjoining scrubland.

It prefers a well drained sandy soil in a protected semi shaded to sunny position and is frost and drought resistant.

The Thyme Pink-bell is grown for its colourful flowers and bushy habit. It is planted in small or native gardens along borders or may be grown as a container plant in courtyards. The shrub is suitable for coastal regions and establishes in 2 to 3 years. This plant may be difficult to obtain requiring a specialist nursery. ID 1180
