This shrub has an erect stem with spreading branches that form an open crown. It has needle-like dark green leaves and the small pink cup-shaped flowers have golden tips and are arranged in a bottlebrush-like spike that appears from spring to summer.

is naturally found in Western Australia growing on inland ridges and hill tops in very well drained, moderately fertile white, yellow or grey sandy-gravelly to clay soils. It prefers an open sunny position and is frost tender but drought tolerant.

This colourful hardy shrub is grown in small to medium size gardens as a specimen plant or in low shrub borders for screening. It is suitable for coastal and inland regions and tolerates humidity. It is fairly fast growing establishing in 2 to 3 years and requires very well drained soils. ID 1144
