Eucalyptus erythrocorys
is naturally found in Western Australia growing in sandy well-drained, moderately fertile soils and tolerates limestone based soils and alkaline conditions. It prefers an open sunny position and is drought tolerant but frost tender.

The Red Cap Gum is spectacular when flowering and is grown in medium size gardens and parks as a specimen tree. It is used in coastal positions tolerating sandy to heaver soils with some lime and is fast growing establishing in 2 to 3 years. The leaves may be used as food for Koalas. When the trees in full flower the branches are weighed down and in strong winds tend to snap off. ID 1056
