This shrub to small tree forms an upright bushy habit with a rounded crown. The grey-green leaves are linear and the tube-shaped flowers are cream, pink or lilac appearing from spring to summer.

It grows in well drained, fertile moist light soils. It prefers a open sunny position and is frost tender but drought resistant.
