This shrub has an upright habit with stiff open branching forming a rounded bushy habit. It has grey green variable lanced-shape leaves and waxy pink star-shape flowers appear solitary along the stems during spring.

It is excellent for planting in sand dunes along the coastal fringe.

It prefers a well drained moderately fertile sandy soil in a protected sunny position when young, and is frost tender and drought tolerant.
