This climber has slender dark stems that twine over structures and forms a dense cover. It has dark green ovate leaves and has a bell-shaped white calyx with crimson trumpet-shaped flowers that appear in a cluster during summer.

Clerodendrum thomsoniaeis naturally found in tropical West Africa growing over shrubs and on small trees up to 6m (20ft) with its roots shaded. It prefers an organic rich moist soil in a humid sunny, wind protected position and is frost tolerant but drought tender.

Glory Bower is an attractive flowering vine that is grown over a fence or pergola and on lattice walls for screening. It is also grown in patio pots and planter boxes and is suitable for small gardens giving a tropical effect. In cool climates it is used as a glasshouse specimen and it establishes in 2 to 3 years.
