This variable shrub is prostrate to upright with woolly stems that form an open habit. It has small grey green oblong leaves and the red to pink tube-shaped shaped flowers appear in a cluster from winter to spring.

Is naturally found in Australia growing from south-east New South Wales to Victoria from the coast to the highlands of the Snowy Mountains. It appears in a range of habitats from Eucalyptus woodlands, scrubland and in heath.

It prefers a well drained acidic, sandy to light clay loam that is granite based in a full sun to semi shaded position with hot dry summers and a cold winter. It is drought and frost resistant.

The Woolly Grevillea is grown for its variable habit and flowers. It is planted in rockeries or garden beds as a ground cover or in shrub borders. It is suitable for coastal or mountainous regions establishing in 1 to 2 years and requires little maintenance and attracts birds. The plant varies in habit, flowers and foliage depending on its environmental conditions.
