The Nerve Plant is a delicate but showy perennial that is grown for its foliage and prostrate habit. It is commonly grown as an indoor plant or used as a ground cover in a tropical setting. It is also planted in the understory around a water feature or as a spill-over in a rockery. It is moderately fast growing and establishes in 1 to 2 years but is sensitive to cold and wet conditions that encourage rot. ID 940
