This small tree has an upright stout trunk that is dark at the base and the spreading grey to yellowish branches form an open rounded crown. It has dull green lanced-shaped leaves and ribbed buds produce cream flowers in a cluster from spring to summer.

Eucalyptus lesouefii is naturally found in Western Australia growing in well drained, moderately fertile sandy-stony soils in an open sunny position and is frost and very drought resistant.

Goldfields Blackbutt is grown for its habit and flowers. It is planted on farms and large gardens or along roadsides and as a specimen in parks to attract birds.
