Arrow Bamboo is a hardy bamboo that can form thickets and is used in screen planting or as a windbreak in parks and gardens. It is also grown in patio pots or trimmed to form a hedge. It is not commonly cultivated in gardens as it has an invasive habit and may be difficult to remove, but can be grown in sealed containers. The cultivar 'Tsutsumiana' has swollen stems and is grown as a specimen plant. This plant requires controlling in confined areas and establishes in 2 to 3 years. ID 910
