Dendrobium kingianumis naturally found in Australia growing on the east coast in open forests and is a very variable species in both flower and vegetative parts.
It prefers moisture retaining rock or grows in the forks of trees in very well drained leaf mould in a sunny to semi-shaded protected position and is drought tolerant but frost tender.
The Pink Rock Orchid is grown for its flowers and is planted in sub-tropical gardens on trees or rock outcrops and is commonly used in conjunction with water features. It is slow growing though will establish from a cutting in 2 to 4 years. Large pieces will transplant easily for an instant effect. It is also grown in a shade house and the flowers are used in floral arrangements. ID 865
