Chamelaucium uncinatum is naturally found in Western Australia on the coast above Perth growing on sand planes. It prefers a very well drained moderately fertile sandy soil in an open sunny protected position and is frost and drought tender but salt spray tolerant.

Geraldton Wax is grown for its flowers and its bushy habit. It is planted in parks and gardens along borders or in a rockery as a specimen. It establishes in 2-3 years but is short lived and is suitable for coastal regions. It is also used in patio pots and planter boxes requiring perfect drainage and low humidity and is an excellent cut flower.ID 861
