The Spider Plant is grown for its foliage and arching inflorescence. It is commonly grown as an indoor potted specimen or used in hanging baskets and is almost indestructible through neglect. It is also mass planted along front borders in small or cottage gardens and the variegated form is the more commonly cultivated plant. It is very hardy but has become a weed in many moist places.
