This fast growing large deciduous tree has a straight trunk with sparse branching on the top that forms an open crown. It has dark green fern-like leaves and the golden-yellow pea-shaped flowers appear in a raceme during spring.

The Yellow Jacaranda is grown for its tall habit and its flowers. It is planted in large gardens or parks as an emergent in gullies or as a lawn specimen. It is suitable for coastal regions and is grown in rainforest settings establishing in 2 to 4 years. It is not normally used in urban gardens and may be difficult to obtain.ID 791
