Digitaria didactylais naturally found from east Africa to Madagascar growing in moist lowland regions. It is considered the most attractive lawn and responds well to regular mowing. It prefers a warm moist environment and grows in a well drained fertile sandy to light clay loam with reliable moisture and is frost, cold and drought tender.

Blue Couch is grown for its fine texture and colour. It is suitable for use on fairways or playing fields, bowling greens and for domestic lawns. It is not as hardy as common couch but will recover quickly. If maintained well this fine bluish lawn becomes a feature in the garden. Care should be taken as it is sensitive to many herbicides and cool weather. ID 679
