Carpet Grass is grown for its soft textured foliage and spreading habit. It is planted in areas with low traffic on slopes for erosion control or along roadsides. It is also suitable for private courtyards or in display gardens. It develops quickly with prostrate reddish stolons that have short internodes and flowers freely. It establishes in 1-2 years and requires little maintenance but should be kept moist.ID 678
